As a Qualcomm Machine Learning Researcher, you will conduct fundamental research that creates innovative machine learning methodology that achieves beyond state-of-the-art performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

• 6+ months of experience developing and/or optimizing machine learning models, systems, platforms, or methods.

Responsibilities

Research and engineering on efficiency of LLM inference and decodingGeneration of creative solutions with consideration of practical challenges and restrictions on devicesImplementation and evaluation of possible solutions in both simulation and on-device environmentsContribution to research paper publications

Minimum qualifications

Master's degree in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of machine learning research, or related work experience.Strong background in computer science and deep learning basicsStrong programming skills in Python and PyTorch

Preferred qualifications

PhD in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field2+ years of machine learning, deep learning, and/or NLP research experienceExperience in LLM reasoning or inference acceleration researchExperience of on-device AI model production or exposure to mobile / edge device environmentsFirst author publications experience at major AI conferences, e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$179,000.00 - $268,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
