The Senior Research Program Coordinator will serve as the primary coordinator to support the Central Texas Colorectal Cancer Screening Program to increase colorectal cancer screening in underserved populations. This is a grant funded position through May 2028, renewable upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward programmatic goals.

The Senior Research Program Coordinator will work closely with the Project Director, Program Manager, program team members, and partner organizations. The individual in this position will understand the goals, deliverables, and timelines of the grant, which prioritize the use of mailed at-home screening tests, patient navigation, and community education and outreach. The Senior Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for: ensuring program processes are well-developed and implemented; data management, tracking, and documentation; internal and external reporting; and building relationships with community partners and organizations. This position will be the first point of contact for partner health centers and collaborators, and will be able to answer inquiries about the program. This individual will coordinate meetings, including preparing agenda and meeting minutes and may support the development of abstracts and presentations.

Purpose

The Senior Research Program Coordinator will coordinate a grant-funded quality improvement program to increase colorectal cancer screening using mailed at-home screening tests, patient navigation, and education and outreach initiatives in Central Texas, and ensure goals, objectives, and deliverables are met in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Program Coordination Day-to-Day and Administrative Skills: Provide program support for the Program Manager. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain minutes. Tracking of all grant goals and objectives to ensure they are being met in a timely manner. Collect and maintain all program documents and materials. Maintain ethics and compliance standards for the institutional training and any additional training required by the institution or funding agency.

Data Collection and Management Skills: Review, and in some cases manage, primary data collection. Maintain databases. Ensure tracking logs are updated and evaluate data for progress against goals. Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports.

Partner Engagement Skills: Maintain relationships with our Federally Qualified Health Center partners (CommUnityCare and Lone Star Circle of Care), UT Health Austin (Digestive Health and Ambulatory Surgery Center), Dell Seton Medical Center. Foster, then maintain, relationships with new partners, including Black Men’s Health Clinic, Austin Asian Community Health Initiative, Vivent Health, Bluebonnet Health, and any other collaborators or partnering organizations. Serve as the first point of contact to address barriers or questions for both team members and partners.

Communication and Organizational Skills: Maintain regular communication with sub-awardees and community partners. Create and maintain a centralized system for all program documents and activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree of Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, or related field. 5 years of research program coordination or health services program implementation. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in basic computer skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree: Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, or related field. 5+ years of community and clinical setting-based cancer prevention program coordination and oversight; community collaboration and network building, outreach, and engagement; contract and professional service agreement experience with agencies Bilingual: Functional or proficient in Spanish. Program procedure and protocol development experience. Working knowledge of data collection and organization. Proficient in REDCap database development and management. Experience engaging with clinics and community partners. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment, and coordinate with colleagues at varying organizational levels. Experience with human subjects regulatory requirements and IRB procedures.

Salary Range

$56,000+ depending on qualifications
