Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is inviting applications for a human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher. Selected candidate will work from FRA’s Pittsburgh office. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of conducting research and developing Human-AI systems with a focus on improving usability and user experience. In this role, you will lead research projects and be responsible for integrating computer vision-based technologies into the systems that work in the wild, not just in experimental environments. 

Job responsibilities: 

Conduct research at the intersection of HCI and AI Design and prototype applications combining a variety of devices and platforms, with a focus on integrating computer vision-based technologies  Publish research papers in reputed scientific journals, conferences. Showcase the work via presentation in invited talks, conferences, and workshops  Collaborate with cross-functional teams including computer vision researchers, software developers and external collaborators 

Essential requirements: 

PhD in HCI, Computer Science, or a related field  Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier HCI conferences and journals  Extensive experience in human-computer interaction and usability  Experience in prototyping applications for a variety of devices and platforms  Coding experience in Python 

Preferred requirements: 

Experience with machine learning or computer vision-based technologies and their integration into systems  Coding experience in one or more front-end systems such as web application development, React, Unity etc. Strong publication record in top-tier HCI or AI conferences including CHI, UIST, CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICM, AAAI Experience with visualization & making decisions related to environmental issues
