About the Role
The Sr. Engineer, Systems and Requirements is a key project technical focal point to product stakeholders both internal and external to Harman. This position requires a broad background in automotive infotainment and digital cockpit systems, as well as deep knowledge in one or more relevant product domains. This position able to evaluate tradeoffs, resolve issues, and achieve technical solutions that meet stakeholder requirements. Must be able to communicate effectively and document the resulting product requirements. Serves as the technical interface for assigned program(s)/domain(s). The responsibility of this position is to provide customer-facing technical interface support for the assigned project.
What You Will Do
- System Requirements technical Product Ownership for assigned program
Develops system functional/performance specifications based on customer and other stakeholders’ specifications to clearly and concisely capture what is required of the product. Drive and own SRS requirements and traceability through Design, Development and Test through an end product driven approach (Test Driven Approach)Documents and maintains product requirement exceptions.Identifies risk level associated with new feature development based on requirements status.Aware of all relevant Federal Standards, industry standards and internal standards and ensures that resulting designs will satisfy these requirements.Drive reuse: Lead the development of reusable internal requirements, identifying synergies and opportunities for design reuse.Champions problem solving/lessons learned for assigned program(s)/domain(s)Responsible for developing and executing requirements baseline management process for projectAccountable for Requirements metrics targets- Stakeholder (CPM / Customer) management
Customer Program Management (CPM) focal point for Requirements Engineering Technical topics for assigned program(s)/domain(s)Maintains Master Document ListMaintains organized repository of both customer and 3rd party requirements specificationsGenerate Requirements Analysis Report (RAR) to CPM for new spec package deliveriesSupports the sales organization in the business development phase of a program as part of proposal activity, by analyzing customer RFQ specifications and developing technical impact analysis and compliance matrix.- Change Request Requirements Management
Responsible for change control management of the project requirements database.Champion Change Request impact analysis and provides results to appropriate stakeholders.Ensures change requests are implemented in the requirements specifications (once approved)- Requirements Open Issues Management
Captures issues that arise from requirements development and downstream activitiesTriages issues based on severity and urgency.Interfaces with Functional Owners and other stakeholders to drive resolution of requirements open issues- Process/Tools

Expert knowledge of requirements managementGood knowledge of embedded software and systemKnowledge of Requirements Management Tool “Doors Next Generation”, “DOORS”, and Doors exchange mechanismConfiguration management rules and tools especially baseliningKnowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®)Strong knowledge on SW and HW architectures and Mobile Wireless Technology (DSPs, ARM, Memories, Multicore processing, WiFi, 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G, CDMA, 2G, Bluetooth) and/or Infotainment Technology (Navigation system, Digital TV, ETC system, Drive recorder, Mirroring, rear seat entertainment).Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business.Fluent communication skills in English and JapaneseWhat Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 15% domestic and international travel.Be willing to work in an office, manufacturing facility, client-site.This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle.
