Job Description:

   

The Global Revenue Recognition Organization (GRRO) is looking for a motivated individual with 8 plus years of experience in Finance and Accounting.  As a Senior Revenue Analyst, you will partner with other finance teams as necessary to provide technical accounting analysis and support on revenue transactions and accounting issues.  The role includes responsibility for deal support, reviewing contracts & providing revenue related guidance during pre-contract stage, active engagement with stakeholders such as Sales, Business Finance Teams, and Legal to ensure revenue recognition concerns are highlighted at contracting stage, closing out deal reviews independently with minimum guidance.  Additional responsibilities include providing ongoing support and training to finance and business teams, mentoring other members of the GRRO team, supporting external & internal auditors, and ensuring HPE policy and the US GAAP accounting standards are appropriately applied across our businesses. As such, the individual is expected:

To be the subject matter expert in revenue recognition, providing clear and final guidance in HPE’s revenue documentation for finance teams to implement.To perform real-time consultation during deal negotiation & customer solution development to ensure deal terms & conditions comply with revenue recognition rules & other policy areas.To communicate and present accounting policy conclusions.To ensure compliance with leasing, software, and service revenue recognition rules.To solve ad-hoc business and process issues related to deals with complicated revenue recognition models.Research and Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment for new, material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements and document conclusions in accounting position memorandum and support the review process with management and external auditors.Communicate and drive adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting policies.

Success in this area depends upon a unique combination of a strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting requirements, strong writing skills, and an eagerness to understand HPE's business operations.  The role requires engagement with Sales, Business Finance, Legal, and our internal and external auditors.  This role presents an excellent opportunity for obtaining a broad overview of HPE and extending your US GAAP knowledge in multiple areas.  

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting, finance, business; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.8+ years of experience in an accounting/finance function. Big four public accounting experience is a plus.Experience with technology industry and international companies preferred.Business and compliance experience preferred.This role will review contracts with the US Public Sector; US Citizenship is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of accounting principles under US GAAP. Technical knowledge on Revenue recognition and Leases is preferred.Experience in researching and interpreting complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues and applying those requirements to complex deal structures.Ability to communicate policy application implications for new and evolving services business models. Ability to partner with operational and finance teams at all levels exercising judgment in policy application during solution development.Experience in developing, improving and executing financial policy and procedures.Understanding of the services and technology industry with experience in a large multinational corporate environment.Excellent program management, written, oral, interpersonal communication and presentation skills, catered to a wide variety of audiences.Self-starter able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.Strong skills in resource management, planning, consulting, and organization.Experience in writing technical accounting documentation and memos. Excellent business acumen.Excellent consulting, influence, and negotiation skills.Experience in business application (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SAP).

Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $98,000.00 - $225,500.00
