The Royal Caribbean Group has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Revenue Planning Analyst reporting to the Manager of Revenue Planning.

 

This position works on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Position Summary:

The Revenue Planning team is responsible for overseeing reporting, forecasting, and analytical functions for Royal Caribbean Group. Key responsibilities include forecasting components of net revenue, analyzing data, and preparing concise and digestible updates to senior leadership summarizing business conditions and opportunities/threats.

 

The Senior Analyst will work alongside brand and shared services finance teams to provide a holistic view on revenue and provide clear and data-supported recommendations for future opportunities and changes in strategy based on analyses. This individual should be an inquisitive storyteller, who consistently looks for the “why” instead of the “what” in any analysis.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as a key contributor in the development of net revenue forecast in excess of $12 billion, which directly influences external financial guidance and reporting. Provide weekly updates to CFO on any risk/opportunity to the Forecast/Plan inclusive of Net Ticket Revenue, Shipboard Revenue, and Other Revenue including any new trend analysis, and changes in behavior. Act as departmental liaison between Revenue Planning, Brand Finance and onboard revenue teams for Onboard Revenue insights, business trends, and forecast updates. Work closely with Revenue Management Development Systems teams to develop reporting and/or dashboards on onboard revenue performance to provide insights to forecast, alongside the brand teams. This also includes collaborating across brands to align on ways of reporting onboard revenue data (including PCP). Prepare numerous analyses, schedules, and presentations in preparation for the quarterly earnings calls, quarterly review decks, Board of Directors presentations, Executive Committee meetings, and other senior leadership presentations. Regularly prepare detailed ad-hoc statistical analyses on varied topics including business conditions, demand trends and pricing trends. Continuously search for potential business improvements, revenue opportunities and efficiency gains - develop, implement and lead projects that capture such opportunities. Provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance to the team of analysts in all aspects of revenue management and financial analysis. Work alongside RM Development and Systems and Data Visualization teams to develop and improve revenue tools and Power Bi Dashboards with the goal of facilitating better decision making, reporting and forecasting, and additional automation. This will be mainly on ticket revenue, and Onboard/PCP revenue. Align with Corporate Strategy team on any capital requests/projects to underwrite revenue assumptions. Align with internal partners to define consistent ways of reporting metrics and stats, including Onboard Revenue and PCP, Guest demographics stats including New to Cruise, First to Brand, etc. Act as a department liaison and build relationships with Revenue Management, Corporate Planning, Brand Finances teams and other areas in order to ensure financial data is effectively communicated and understood.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) or Master's degree (M. A.) preferred, Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year University required. Three or more years work experience in an analytical field. Familiarity with revenue management concepts and demonstrated aptitude for problem solving. Familiarity with onboard revenue concepts is a plus.  Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large and complex volumes of data to deliver useful insights to peers and senior leadership. Superior skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion, and EPM.  Ability to logically structure complex quantitative analyses.  Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business and technical audiences in both spoken and written formats. Attention to detail required. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities independently on an ongoing basis and exemplify strong time-management skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, clear and concise presentations required. Ability to be a storyteller to get across the “why” and not only just the “what.” Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated maturity.  Ability to teach and coach a team of analysts.
