Job Description
The Sr RF Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of high-performance RF systems and components, along with supporting existing designs with obsolescence and updates. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in RF design, simulation, testing, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in RF engineering and be capable of working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Most of our designs are 6GHz and under, with potential for development above this range.
ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of RF components and systems, including antennas, amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and filters.Conduct RF simulation and modeling to predict performance and optimize design.Support efforts for existing designs with troubleshooting and obsolescence issues.Develop detailed specifications and documentation for RF systems and components.Ensure designs meet EMC/EMI and environmental requirements.Create and implement test plans for RF systems and components to meet performance and reliability standards.Perform RF testing and troubleshooting using advanced measurement equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.Familiarize with RF Test automation and best practices.Analyze test data and refine designs as needed to meet performance criteria.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and mechanical engineers, to integrate RF systems into overall product designs.Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and manufacturing technicians.Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product transition from design to production.Stay updated with the latest advancements in RF technology and incorporate relevant innovations.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.7+ years of working experience in RF design and engineering, preferably in radio test or avionics.Experience in the design of Software Defined Radios (SDRs).Proficiency with RF testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.Proven track record in successfully leading RF projects from concept to production.Experience using Altium Designer or Microwave Office.Experience with RF simulation tools such as LTSpice, ADS, and CST.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and reliability.Must be a US person.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in providing technical support and guidance to junior engineers.Collaboration with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production transitions.In-depth knowledge of EMC/EMI and environmental requirements.Experience with automated test equipment and test program set (TPS) development.Familiarity with detailed obsolescence management.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $62.00/hr.
