Senior RFP Writer
What You'll Do We’re looking for a Senior RFP Writer to join our WSRS (Retirement Plans) RFP team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the submission and/or peer review of Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFI), as well as surveys and content. This role is also responsible for positioning and promoting the sale of RIS products and services through the creation, modification, and periodic review of investment and firm level content for use in RFPs, RFIs, and consultant databases. This role will liaise with members of the department, subject matter experts (SMEs), investment and distribution partners throughout the organization to ensure accuracy and clarity is articulated in all content and submissions. Lead the composition and development of responses for complex to highly complex Requests for Proposals (RFPs), demonstrating a clear understanding of the services and investments that may affect pricing. Lead peer reviews of team members' proposals to ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and consistency, while providing constructive feedback to enhance the use of content and alignment with organizational goals. Organize and manage workload efficiently to meet timelines, while providing regular updates and progress reports to sales and distribution partners on ongoing projects. Communicate to leaders, sales, distribution partners on projects, could include managing the daily workflow of the team including vetting and assign of all work. Collaborate cross-functionally with senior content managers and subject matter experts across the organization to ensure the accuracy and alignment of responses with organizational goals. Support the department's strategic goals and actively contribute ideas to help achieve them. Propose improvement to the RFP process to increase efficiency, quality, and success of RFPs and retention of clients. Provide informal mentoring to less experience team members. Act as a resource and informal mentor. Demonstrate proficiency in the areas of technical functions, creativity and formulations of responses, judgment and effective communication. Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required. Who You Are 8 or more years of related work experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience or education Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field preferred but not required Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to RFPs preferred Prefer knowledge of retirement plan and products, including investments, plan design, and services, laws & regulations, industry standards, and the competitive environment Requires ability to work independently and as a member of the team, good organization, prioritization, customer service, and oral and written communication Work towards self-development by expanding knowledge of department, line of business, and industry Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of PC-based applications Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $77350 - $147600 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Work Environments This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
