Senior Risk Analyst

Position Overview:

Come join a growing team of strategists and problem solvers in Freddie Mac’s Single-Family (SF) Acquisitions Division’s Credit Analytics, Reporting and Decision Strategy (CARDS) group. Analytics, reporting, and the identification of emerging risks from our newly purchased loan portfolio are critical to Freddie Mac’s success and overall risk mitigation strategies. Bring together business partners and identify emerging industry trends in a fast-paced, exciting, and diverse work environment.

Our Impact:

CARDS is responsible for model business ownership for our Default Models, Reporting and Analytics covering Credit Policy, Products, Collateral, Condo, Climate Risk, Asset Income Modeler (AIM), Risk Appetite, Loan Acquisition / Portfolio. 

Your Impact:

Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as Single-Family Credit Risk Management  and broader Single-Family, to align and rollout of  “SF Data products”.

A key responsibility will be supporting the Data Team in creating and refining Data Mapping Documents and Business Requirement Documents for various projects.

Will provide subject matter expertise to address risk management data needs using strong analytical skills. This person will design and develop tailored data solutions to meet the needs of both internal and external analytics users.

Will identify patterns and relationships in data, addressing quality concerns, and resolving issues effectively. The role will also involve system testing, monitoring emerging risks, and ensuring data solutions align with organizational goals.

With strong expertise in data warehousing, relational databases, and research methods, they will contribute to building and implementing overall data strategies.

The individual will ensure robust data procedures and controls are established, while independently extracting and analyzing data to support decision-making. The role involves maintaining effective controls to ensure EUC processes comply with established standards.

Qualifications:

College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred Typically has 5 - 7 years related experience Strong understanding of data movement, data engineering, and data management. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or SQL. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with Agile methodologies and working in a Scrum environment. Ability to write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee the product development process and manage risks or issues that arise. Experience working closely with QA teams to ensure product quality.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $114,000 - $172,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
