Senior Risk & Compliance Engineer
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM FLSA: Exempt Position Type: Full-Time/Regular Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The Risk & Compliance Services department offers a unique perspective into the law firm and plays a critical role in its day-to-day operations. As a risk management function of the General Counsel’s Office, the Risk & Compliance team is a firmwide team that is responsible for vetting all prospective representations. The department assists the partnership in complying with: + ethical and legal duties to avoid conflicts of interest; + meeting obligations under relevant financial crime legislation (including but not limited to anti-money laundering legislation and sanctions obligations); and + meeting professional responsibility obligations. The Risk & Compliance Department is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Engineer to serve as a product expert for the technology supporting our new business intake, conflicts clearance, and other risk & compliance processes. In this role, you will collaborate with the Risk & Compliance Team, General Counsel’s Office, and IT departments to design, configure, integrate, test, secure, deploy, and support Intapp Intake, Intapp Conflicts, Intapp Terms, Intapp Walls, and other risk systems. This includes overseeing the migration of Intapp Intake and Conflicts to the Cloud SaaS platform and managing other future software stacks related to Risk & Compliance. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and other IT teams (Solutions, Operations, InfoSec etc.) to ensure high-quality technology solutions that align with the firm's requirements. This position demands a combination of technical proficiency, functional expertise, applications life cycle management, and innovative problem-solving skills. This position has full remote work capabilities, candidates must reside in California, Texas, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts or Connecticut. Key responsibilities of this position include : + Act as a technical expert for Intapp Intake, Intapp Conflicts, Intapp Terms, and all other systems supporting the risk & compliance activities of the firm. + Collaborate with professionals at all levels of the firm to gather requirements and assist with designing workflow solutions to meet the firm’s needs. Work closely, for example, with business stakeholders, vendors, and other IT teams to understand the requirements, priorities, and challenges of the new business intake and conflicts clearance processes. + Provide technical guidance, best practices, and recommendations for the configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and support of Intapp and other risk solutions. + Lead the migration of Intapp Conflicts from on-premises to cloud SaaS platform, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to the business. + Implement changes to Intapp and other risk system workflows. + Identify, hire, and supervise outside consultants where needed to implement new systems, execute large-scale changes, or perform other system maintenance. + Assess implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations. + Oversee the integration of Intapp Intake, Intapp Conflicts, Intapp Terms, and other risk systems with firm finance and other data systems; focus on efficient data processing, information security controls, and information governance standards. + Work with the Analytics team to design and implement effective solutions and models to provide advanced analytics and reporting capabilities for Intapp and other risk platforms. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Intapp and other risk solutions, including performance, functionality, security, and data quality. + Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and knowledge base articles for Intapp and other risk solutions. + Provide end-user training and support for Intapp solutions, as well as communication updates, changes, and enhancements. + Monitor and report on the usage, performance, and satisfaction of Intapp and other risk solutions; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness. + Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, management, system users and other departmental business partners. + Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and consulting partners. + Collaborate with service management and service delivery functions to handle changes, incidents, outages, and communications. + Work with business solutions groups to conduct service and vendor reviews. + Providing other technical support as needed by the Risk & Compliance Services Team or General Counsel’s Office. Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience + 6+ years of experience with technology, development, and systems administration, including a strong understanding of integration concepts and middleware technologies + Experience with migrating Intapp solutions from on-premise to cloud SaaS products, or similar system migration projects + Strong proficiency in Boomi AtomSphere, including Process Builder, Connecter and API Management + Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud + Experience with RESTful web services development + Experience in ingesting data using data pipelines + Data parsing experience with various data formats (XML, JSON, XLS etc.) + Proficiency in SQL and database objects development + Expertise in scripting languages (PowerShell, VBScript etc.) + Experience in programming languages (JavaScript, Python, C#) + Experience with Intapp solutions for Conflicts and Intake, including design, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and support preferred + Certification or training in Intapp solutions or cloud technologies is a plus + Strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative, organize, prioritize deadlines, and successfully handle multiple projects and competing priorities in a high-paced environment + Ability to work independently and seamlessly with internal and external teams, promote regular collaboration and foster a positive and inclusive team environment The base salary range for this position in California, New York is $125,000-$140,000. The base salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $120,000-$135,000. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, years of relevant experience, certifications or other professional licenses held, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and the location from which the work will be performed. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.
