Senior Risk Consultant
Overview Senior Risk Consultant Remote The Senior Risk Consultant will lead the company’s fraud prevention strategies and risk adoption of open banking tools. This role will be responsible for developing and executing data-driven, customer-centric strategies for credit risk onboarding and fraud detection to ensure safe account creation, loan origination, and payment processing. The Senior Risk Consultant will measure and monitor performance of fraud trends and adoption of open banking tools to ensure the business meets or exceeds fraud loss and growth targets. Essential Responsibilities Use data analytics to identify and mitigate fraud risks associated with account creation, loan origination, and payments. Establish and monitor fraud detection models and business rules to prevent fraudulent activities. Create robust fraud detection mechanisms leveraging machine learning, AI, and other analytics tools to continuously improve fraud prevention. Lead the adoption of open banking solutions for improving business outcomes in fraud detection and credit risk assessment. Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups. Continuously evaluate emerging fraud and open banking trends, threats, and technologies, adapting the company’s strategies accordingly. Builds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with senior leaders, executives, and peers. Build and maintain productive partnerships with key areas of the business (e.g., Operations, Risk, Product, Compliance) to ensure strategies are comprehensive, fit for purpose and executed as designed. Oversee and continually refine the company’s fraud and open banking strategies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fraud and open banking solutions, driving improvements over time Minimum Qualifications BS/MS in a quantitative discipline (statistics, math, computer science, data science. quantitative social science, operation management, finance) or equivalent working experience. 7+ years of experience in fraud risk or credit risk demonstrating understanding of risk management disciplines, varying analytic practices and fraud risk concepts. Proven success in analyzing large amounts of data which foster actionable business decisions. Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL, R or Python. Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
