What is the opportunity?

Senior Risk Manager, Clearing & Custody

Supports RBC Clearing & Custody (C&C) firms to manage risks and improve processes. Applies regulatory knowledge, experience and in-depth understanding of RBC back-office processing, policies and procedures when supporting firms.

What will you do?

Support C&C firms to resolve complex client account issues, understand RBC Policies and Procedures and regulatory requirements.Support Director Regulatory Risk to pro-actively communicate and work with firms to increase their knowledge and understand of regulatory requirements and the impacts to their business.Work with C&C firms, RBC Compliance and various trade support resources to resolve issues around CAT, TRACE or MSRB reporting.Support RIA Oversight and Correspondent Risk team by providing subject matter expertise, exceptions as needed and back up as necessary.Serve as a key point of escalation for AML, risk and compliance issues related to the C&C line of business.Take a lead role representing the C&C line of business with various RBC resources and projects.Ensure C&C policies, procedures and materials are accurate and up-to date,Communicate with C&C firms and team members concerning any changes to policy and procedures.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Strong understanding of clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting processes/requirements.Ability to effectively communicate and build consensus with C&C firms and  internal RBC resources to understand and resolve complex client issues.Ability to assess risk and make reasonable decisions concerning the C&C LOB.4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent or 7+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience.Securities license 7 and 24 (or able to obtain license within 120 days).

Nice-to-have

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.Advanced problem identification, analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception-based complex processes.Detail orientated, and above average organizational skills.Able to independently manage multiple demands and competing priorities.

The expected salary range for this position is $85,000-$150,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
