The Dell Medical School is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Department of Women’s Health as a Senior RN Clinical Research Coordinator. This a full-time position that will report jointly to the Associate Director of the Research program, as well as the Director of the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division. Determining data collection standards according to study outcomes, maintaining and monitoring standards for data collection, developing templates to ensure consistency with specified standards. Coordinate logistics for meetings and project groups and capturing minutes from project meetings. Coordinating with other departments, schools at the University, and partner institutions.
Research studies will take place on the L&D unit at Ascension Seton Medical Center, in the Women’s Health Clinics in Medical Park Tower, at the UTHA clinics, the Health Discovery Building (HDB)/Health Transformation Building (HTB) and the Community Care Clinic (CUC) sites.
Purpose
The Senior RN Clinical Research Coordinator will support the coordination and implementation of research studies conducted in the Women’s Health Department at UT Austin’s Dell Medical School. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operations of research projects, mostly related to databases. Develop and maintain project plans and/or other tools to track deliverables and ensure successful completion of project. Pro-actively identify and resolve issues related to projects.
Responsibilities
Coordinate data driven research studies:
Coordinate the operations of several data-driven research projects. Develop and maintain project plans, study timelines and/or other tools to track deliverables to ensure the successful completion of project. Pro-actively identify and resolve issues related to projects. Maintain all regulatory approvals (IRB, etc).
Data Management:
Work closely with the Data Architect to support the data collection, management, data, analyses, and results reporting. Determining data collection standards according to study outcomes, maintaining and monitoring standards for data collection, developing templates to ensure consistency with specific standards. Systematically and accurately extract data from electronic medical records and enter into database.
Work-lead Volunteer Research Assistants:
Oversee volunteer research assistants working on study protocols. Set-up regular meetings to review efforts and track progress. Assist with on-boarding process. Develop materials/tools necessarily to appropriately train individuals in the conduct of study protocol. Maintain documentation of training.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing program. Current Texas RN license. Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of combined nursing and research experience, with at least 2 years of research experience. Previous experience with data collection and management. Previous experience extracted data from electronic medical records. Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and RedCAP. Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail. Excellent documentation skills. Must be team-oriented and demonstrate collaborative working skills. Ability to work independently. Capable of independent as well as collaborative work. Able to collaborate and communicate well. Manage day-to-day activities. Must possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred QualificationsExperience coordinating clinical research studies in Women’s Health. Willingness to learn obstetric and gynecology practices and terminology. Fluent in Spanish. Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems and interpret acceptability of data results. Certification in clinical research. Experience in an academic health center. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Energetic, eager to learn new skills.
