We are seeking a senior roads design engineer with extensive relevant planning and design experience. The candidate will join our growing Highways and Transportation business and will be based in our Cork office. The candidate should be self motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, flexible, willing to take on responsibility, comfortable working as part of a team and supervising junior staff. The role will involve planning and design of road, rail, public transport and active travel projects throughout Ireland, contributing to statutory processes (EIAR, CPO etc), preparation of contract documents, contract administration and construction supervision.
Desirable Skills / Attributes:
Extensive relevant experience in a consultancy environment.Educated to degree level in engineering (Level 8/9).Chartered Engineer or expecting to become Chartered within 12 months.Computer literate with experience of relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads etc).Knowledgeable of relevant design standards (TII / NTA etc.) and ability to translate this knowledge into practical, buildable and value for money designs.Experience in design and build projects.Experience in the development of road schemes (preferably in Ireland), including feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design, statutory processes, procurement processes, contract document preparation, contract administration and construction supervision.Full Irish / EU driving licence.Personal Qualities:
