Stantec is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to lead our highway/roadway design group in California. This position may be based in Phoenix, Denver or Seattle. **Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Day to day management of the highway and roadway design team operations in California
+ Effective planning & communication skills with team members
+ Manage the design of highways, interchanges, streets, and roadways, to meet local, state and federal requirements
+ Planning, analysis and design of projects, scheduling staff, review of work, training and mentoring staff, proposal preparation, project presentation, project management, fiscal management, and contract negotiations
+ Develop project management plans for projects; establishes goals and objectives for unique and complex projects.
+ Responsible for successfully establishing projects to achieve budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.
+ Conducts and/or coordinates quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitates independent technical review projects by others.
+ Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, interested stakeholder parties, reviewing agency personnel.
+ Assists business leaders in project revenue forecasting.
+ Performs business development/application tasks and collaborates with staff to increase project wins and develop long lasting client relationships. Routine tasks include:
+ Participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposals
+ Client facing for business development contact, meetings, walk-downs, and presentations
+ Scope of work documents and estimates
+ Collaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunities
+ Quality reviews
+ Growing internal and external networks to enhance Stantec’s reputation and identifying additional talent to join our team.
+ Promoting collaboration and teamwork across business lines and geographies.
**Qualifications**
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
+ Knowledge of use of MicroStation V8i, InRoads, Open Roads or similar Road Engineering program
+ Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
+ Ability to use or familiarity with AutoCAD, or MicroStation is a plus
+ Experienced and knowledge of Caltrans PA/ED, PR/PSR, and PS&E procedures
+ Experience and knowledge of AASHTO and Caltrans design directives and specifications
+ Experience and knowledge of Caltrans highway and right of way deliverables
+ Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset
**Education and Experience**
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
+ Minimum of ten (10) years of Caltrans highway and transportation design experience
+ Registered Professional Civil Engineer
+ Registered Professional Civil Engineer in California is a plus

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
**Salary Range(s):**
* $108,000 - $162,000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD
* $115,900 - $173,800 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
