Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking a qualified Aircraft Modification and Maintenance Safety Specialist to support the Tactical Reconnaissance group at Majors Field in Greenville, Texas.The selected candidate will be instrumental in driving the development, organization, administration, enforcement, and continuous improvement of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, county, local, and customer requirements and supports the Hangar Dock and Line (HDL) as well as HDL Tooling’s efforts to meet their injury rate reduction and environmental sustainability goals. Additionally, the specialist will contribute to the continuous improvement and validation of EHS compliance requirements.

Essential Functions:

Support all aspects of EHS performance, including injury reduction and avoidance, and adherence to EHS regulatory and company requirements.Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, risk assessments, etc., advising management on conditions requiring corrective action and tracking resolutions to effective closure.Focus on continuous improvement and management of change in EHS programs, processes, systems, and products, with particular attention to ergonomics, chemical management, risk assessments, and hazardous waste management.Support incident investigations, data/trend analysis to determine root cause, maintain necessary documentation, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.Regularly brief site operations and leadership teams on EHS programs, trends, and action plans.Stay current with all applicable regulations and company policies.Perform related duties or special projects as directed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Minimum of 6 years developing, training, and implementing EHS programs and trainings.United States citizenship.Ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance and COMSEC Brief.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Strong root cause analysis skills.Experience using and leveraging EHS common systems, such as Gensuite.Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all situations.Ability to research technical information as required.Demonstrated ability to work under general, consultative direction.Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).Competent computer skills related to Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
