Senior Safety Specialist
Job Title: Safety Specialist

Job Description

As an experienced Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations on active project sites. You will assist in developing project safety documents, review and develop the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), and provide onsite safety training and education. You will work closely with project management, quality control, subcontractors, and other personnel to maintain a positive safety culture and ensure adherence to safety inspections and corrections.

ResponsibilitiesPerform regular site visits of active projects to ensure compliance with the Safety Plan.Assist in the development of project safety documents for field operations.Develop and review the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).Write Job Hazards Analysis (JHA) as directed and/or needed.Provide onsite safety training and education.Collaborate with project management, quality control, subcontractors, and other personnel to ensure cooperation and adherence to safety inspections, corrections, and compliance.Assist with investigation and recording of accidents and workmen's compensation claims.Maintain record-keeping documents as required by OSHA and prepare and research safety needs and expectations.Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.Essential SkillsDegree in Safety or related field.2-4 years of experience in construction safety, either with a general contractor (GC) or in trade safety.Experience in safety compliance, OSHA 30, Job Hazard Analysis, and risk management.Knowledge of Accident Prevention Plan development and auditing.Additional Skills & QualificationsAny safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, SST are a plus but not required.Experience in insurance liability due to changing regulations.Drive to obtain higher safety certifications.Work Environment

The office is located in Woburn, and this is primarily an onsite position. You will work under a Safety Manager but act as a mentor to junior-level Safety Specialists.
