The Role

Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly flexible and motivated senior level System Designs and Integration Specialist for the programs Middleware team, building, supporting, and evolving Middleware platforms within a wide range of MOD and Government based programs. Provide technical expertise in a variety of technologies to a multi-site program team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, testing, implementation and support of a sophisticated integration solution and management of associated system components. You will possess technical experience of SAP Data Services, ideally with experience in designing and developing integration applications using the product.

The position requires cross team coordination and leadership with separate, but tightly coupled development and architecture teams, infrastructure support teams, key suppliers, and other Boeing programs applying the same technologies. 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

The ideal candidate we’re looking for has the following skills;

ETL Development: Design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using SAP Data Services.Data Quality Management: Develop and implement data quality rules and validation processes.Job Scheduling: Create and manage job schedules for data integration tasks.Performance Tuning: Optimize data flows and processes for performance improvements.Script Development: Write custom scripts using Data Services scripting language for complex transformations.Integration: Integrate SAP Data Services with various data sources and targets, including databases, flat files, and cloud servicesRequirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse data integration requirements.Solution Design: Design data integration solutions that meet business needs and align with best practices.Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for data integration processes and solutions.Best Practices: Provide guidance on best practices for data management and integration.Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting data-related issues and provide solutions.Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and training for team members on SAP Data Services.Prioritization: Effectively prioritize tasks and projects based on urgency and business impact.Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.Technical guidance: Provide the project with guidance and best practice to future proof the solution.

The jobholder must not be constrained by a rigid job specification and be willing to pick up additional duties as necessary. They must be hard-working and “hands on” in their approach and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. They must be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the organization and be confident representing BDUK and teaming with the MOD and government partners.
