The Role:

Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Senior SAP Developer to join our Finance team! The team is an energetic and dedicated group of professionals that are highly involved in all facets of the business through the delivery of exceptional stakeholder value. Reporting to the Director of Finance Data & Systems this role plays a vital part in overseeing the development of Rakuten Kobo’s Finance SAP system. The Senior SAP Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining SAP solutions to meet the business requirements for Rakuten Kobo. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand needs and translate them into efficient and scalable SAP solutions. Expertise in SAP S/4HANA will be crucial in optimizing business processes and driving innovation within the organization.

This person will need a keen sense of attention to detail, have great interpersonal skills, adapt, learn quickly, and be able to work under strict and tight deadlines. An eagerness to want to improve and drive results is expected.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily maintenance, monitoring, and administration of SAP S/4HANA systemDesign and build SAP solutions including but not limited to:SAP Analytics CloudAPI connectivity to 3rd party solution providers (payments, taxes, Etc.)Electronic bank statementsData transformation from internal production systemsApproval workflowsCollaborate with business stakeholders to improve and streamline processesCreate and maintain documentation of SAP S/4HANA systemReview and establish controls based on feedback from Rakuten internal auditorsBuild custom reports to support stakeholder requirementsSupport Finance team during month-end close activities

Qualifications:

Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA with a focus on the Finance (FI) moduleExperience with SAP Fiori apps for Finance and reportingStrong background in ABAP development, including custom reports, enhancements, interfaces, and formsFamiliarity with BRF+ for business rules managementUnderstanding of integration points between FI and other SAP modules like SD (Sales and Distribution), MM (Materials Management), and PP (Production Planning)Ability to perform hands-on configuration in the FI module, including account determinations, fiscal year variants, and tax configurationsKnowledge of financial accounting and reporting processesExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutions
