The Senior Scenic Technician provides expert-level support to the scenic department, ensuring the flawless operation and maintenance of studio sets, properties, and environments. This role requires advanced technical skills and strategic oversight, including:
Your Role Accountabilities…
Studio Installation and Oversight: Lead the installation, maintenance, and deconstruction of studio sets, ensuring adherence to production standards and optimizing set functionality and safety for all stakeholders.Scenic Property Oversight and Quality Control: Oversee the upkeep and condition of all scenic properties, including props, furniture, and decorations, ensuring their quality, longevity, and production readiness. Establish maintenance schedules and proactively address wear and tear.On-Air Scenic Direction and Real-Time Adjustments: Manage and direct timely adjustments to scenic elements during live broadcasts, ensuring seamless, high-quality transitions that maintain the visual integrity of the broadcast.Technical Support Leadership for Live Productions: Provide senior-level technical guidance and problem-solving for scenic elements during live productions. Collaborate closely with other production teams to integrate scenic elements smoothly with lighting, sound, and video.Warehouse and Asset Management: Supervise and optimize the scenic department’s inventory processes, including asset storage, organization, and retrieval. Implement best practices to improve inventory efficiency and reduce downtime. Requires forklift certification.Event Design Execution: Take a lead role in collaborating with the designer, constructing, and maintaining sets for production. Ensure alignment with production goals and execute events with a high standard of quality and precision.Qualifications & Experience…
Extensive Experience: Over 7 years in scenic construction and production environments.Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in scenic construction techniques and a strong understanding of materials, construction methods, and design principles tailored for high-profile productions.Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record in troubleshooting and making critical adjustments in real-time. Adept at leading solutions and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.Leadership and Mentorship: Experienced in mentoring junior team members, promoting a collaborative work culture, and coordinating cross-departmental efforts to ensure seamless production execution.Specialized Stage Equipment Experience: Advanced knowledge and practical skills in stage lighting, sound equipment, and integration of scenic elements within a production setting.Hands-On Role: This role requires regular physical engagement, including handling heavy materials and performing extensive physical labor.Adaptability in Various Environments: Ability to work in diverse environments, from studios and warehouses to outdoor locations, often involving prolonged periods of physical activity.How We Get Things Done…
