Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Scheduler/Planner to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in the Pittsburgh office. PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. Join our team and become part of a community that strives for positive change–providing the best solutions for our clients’ toughest challenges!   The Senior Planner is responsible for providing comprehensive project planning support through the engineering, procurement, construction and testing/commissioning phases, using standard planning techniques.
 


Responsibilities:
 

Establishing, monitoring and updating multiple project plans/schedules by:
 

Developing detailed project schedules using standard coding and work breakdown structures; Understanding project scope and identifying tasks/activities; Sequencing work packages/activities and developing network models; Estimating activities duration; Developing schedule development plans and basis of schedule; Establishing critical path and total project duration; Preparing Level 1, 2 and 3 project schedules by summarizing the detailed work schedules Performing schedule control by analyzing critical path, planned value, earned value, schedule variance, schedule performance indices and schedule risk analysis, and recommending corrective actions Updating project schedules to reflect progress against project baseline and preparing management reports; Participate in the change management process with raising schedule deviations and schedule impacts to project changes

 

Must have:
 

In Depth understanding of the EPCM industry and practices; Comprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures involved in the planning function, with a minimum of 15 years proven experience in the execution of complex projects in the metals sector; steel industry experience is preferred Hands on experience in planning and preparing logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts, with particular emphasis on detailed construction schedules; Ability to receive information from numerous sources, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills; In depth experience with computer based scheduling systems (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and other computerized applications related to the work is essential; Fully familiar with resource allocation and levelling techniques as well as earned value analysis; Must possess sound judgement; strong analytical and interpersonal skills, well developed organizational and administration skills, verbal and written communication skills; Tact and diplomacy required when providing assistance and support regarding the preparation and analysis of project schedules; Ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives; Ability to develop, coach and mentor a team of intermediate and junior planners.

 

This position reports to the Regional Manager.
