Position Title: Senior Scientist Salary: $77,022.00 per year Location: 8551 Research Way, Suite 90, Middleton, WI 53562 Summary of Duties: Independently performs method validations, method transfers, and analytical testing of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and delivery systems. Understands and conforms to methods and protocols applicable to assigned tasks. Designs and executes experiments with minimal supervision. Prepares study protocols, project status reports, final study reports, and other project related technical documents. Communicates data and technical issues to the client and responds to client needs and questions. Mentors, trains, and coordinates laboratory activities of other team members and assists in troubleshooting instrument and analytical problems. Assists with quality systems and new equipment. Assists in designing method validation or method transfer protocols and establishes project timelines. Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Performs self and peer review of the data for accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements prior to submission to QA and issuance to customers. Qualifications: PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field and six (6) months of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, Laboratory Manager, or a related scientific laboratory role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field and three (3) years of experience as a Graduate teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, Laboratory Manager, or a related scientific laboratory role. Must have any amount of experience with: General chemistry and separation science; Microsoft Excel and Word; Technical operating systems; Technical writing including Scientific Reports, Laboratory and Data Analysis Reports, and Documenting Experiments; Chromatography including Gas Chromatography (GC) or High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instrumentation; Flame ionization detection (FID) and Ultraviolet (UV) detection; Mass Spectrometry (MS); Liquid-liquid solvent extractions; Laboratory requirements and Setting up, using and troubleshooting instrumentation such as GC (FID) and GCMS; and techniques such as solid phase extraction and liquid-liquid extraction.
