The Orthopaedic Department at Loyola University Medical Center is seeking a Senior Secretary to support the daily operations of the department. The Senior Secretary will perform a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks to ensure smooth and efficient office functions. This role provides critical support to various individuals and functional areas within the Orthopaedic Department, facilitating effective communication, documentation, and coordination of departmental activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Administrative Support: Various individuals within the department  

Communication: Types and formats correspondence, announcements, reports and the like. Assists in compiling data to prepare operational reports.

Projects and Event Planning: Assists in completing various projects as needed including summarizing and compiling findings in written reports, spreadsheets, graphs or other appropriate format. Assists other support staff with activities related to on-site event planning

Record Keeping: Creates and maintains accurate filing system and records of departmental activities/projects. .

Budget and Equipment Management: budget inventories & Equipment - Assists with preparation of check requisitions, purchase requisitions, and expense reports. Utilizes PeopleSoft to process purchase requisitions. May order office supplies and arrange for maintenance of office equipment and facilities to ensure proper working order and smooth operation of department. 

This position is integral to maintaining the functionality of the Orthopedic Department and supports a collaborative and organized work environment.

Position Requirements:


Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Minimum Experience:

Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Computer Skills Required: Basic Keyboarding Skills, Excel, Power Point, Word
Typing Words Per Minute: 55 wpm
