About the team and role:

eBay is looking for outstanding developers with a security background to join our Cloud Security Team. The ideal candidate will excel at building and maintaining policy and access management products in the IAM domain.

We are seeking software engineers who are passionate about using the latest technologies to bring our eBay platform security forward with respect to functionality, performance, scalability and reliability.

You will work closely with Product Management, Architects and the Operations teams to tackle complex access management challenges at scale, ensuring a secure, efficient, and user-friendly access environment for our workforce.

What you will accomplish:

Help design, build and run Policy and Access management platform for eBay’s private cloud.

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly available cloud IAM solutions.

Implement scalable identity lifecycle management that automates lifecycle management of workforce and workload identities.

Collaborate with Architects and Product Management to build user-centric solutions.

Working, presenting and collaborating with global teams to accomplish the company’s initiatives.

What you will bring:

BS, MS or PHD in Computer science or related field, or equivalent and 10+ years of development experience in IAM or security domain using at least one strongly typed programming language: Golang, Java, Node.js, C/C++

Knowledge on general Security and IAM (Identity and access management) domain

Experience building access management systems based on RBAC or ReBAC or ABAC or PBAC (Policy Based access control).

Hands on experience with Kubernetes, Istio and building and deploying applications on Kubernetes.

Programming experience with databases: LDAP or RDBMS or NoSQL

Experience and good understanding of key security technologies e.g. TLS 1.2+, X.509 and basic cryptography.

Good understanding of some of following areas:  SSO: OpenID Connect, SAML, OAuth2, IdM: SCIM, LDAP, IDM platforms, Cloud Security: K8S security, RBAC, Segmentation, Policy Management, web session management, Cookies, and vulnerabilities (OWASP top 10)

Any experience with public cloud IAM capabilities, Kerberos, mTLS, GSSAPI, SASL, Zanzibar, Cerbos, OPA or Kyverno is a plus.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$168,400 - $262,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
