Senior Security Supervisor
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Evening Shift **Description:** $3,000 New Hire Sign on Bonus **Senior Security Supervisor (Armed)** **POSITION SUMMARY:** Under the direction of the Security Manager and Regional Security Director, the Senior Security Supervisor is responsible for daily operations, staff, service, or function assigned. In addition to supervising the general security staff, the Senior Security Supervisor is responsible for the command, control, and operations of the armed security officer program. Responsible for the performance of all security and safety duties as assigned. Provide armed, uniformed Security presence throughout St. Joseph’s Health (SJH) campuses. Assess threats, provide immediate response to, and mitigate offenses against public order, life and safety of colleagues, staff, patients, visitors and others on and within the buildings and grounds of SJH. Offenses or events requiring investigation and thorough reporting will be made and submitted to the Security Manager and Regional Director. Coordination with law enforcement agencies based on threat assessment and offenses. Participates in the orientation of newly hired staff, distribution of personnel and scheduling work coverage, oversight of equipment control and maintenance, performance evaluation and improvement, administering progressive discipline, ensure personnel receive and maintain required training, certifications, and licensing related to specific areas of expertise. **EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:** Valid State of New York Armed Security Guard License (includes firearms training and a valid NYS pistol permit) Or Active police officer status at time of hiring is required. Active police officers must obtain armed security license and a NYS pistol permit within 6 months upon being hired. Successful completion of the DCJS Basic Course for Police Officers required. High School Diploma/GED Certificate required. Associate degree preferred. Valid NYS Drivers License is required. IAHSS Basic Security Certification must be completed within one year of hire. FEMA Emergency Management Institute courses must be completed within 90 days of hire - IS - 100c. BLS Certification required upon hire or within 3 weeks of hire. **SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:** Minimum of Seven (7) years of law enforcement experience (active police or peace officer) required. Two (2) plus years of police supervision experience (Rank of Sergeant or above) preferred. Must successfully pass a Psychiatric evaluation prior to hire. **WORK ENVIRONMENTAL AND HAZARDS:** Frequent exposure to adverse working conditions such as noise, noxious odors, temperatures, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases. Routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** Frequent close eye work (computers, typing, reading, and writing). Sedentary (sitting), light work (standing, walking, lifting <15 pounds), moderate work (lifting 15-30 pounds, prolonged use of small hand instruments), moderately heavy work (lifting, moving, loading 31-50 pounds) heavy/hard work (above average strength and stamina, lifting >51 pounds) heavy/hard work (patient handling/lifting, maximum 35 pounds). **WORK CONTACT GROUP:** All services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, various regulatory and professional agencies. **SUPERVISED BY:** Security Manager and Regional Director of Security **SUPERVISES:** Security staff to include all armed security officers. **CAREER PATH:** Manager Pay Range: $33.35 - $50.55 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
