**Job Summary**
The Senior Security Tools Engineer role is critical to maintaining and advancing the organization’s security posture. You’ll be responsible for the review, selection, configuration, and management of cyber security tools in our cloud environment, as well as configuring and maintaining the data integrations between the various tools and our SIEM platform in support of detection creation. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Cyber Security EDR/NDR, Deception, and SIEM platforms and integrations. You will work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively across teams.
**About Our Team**
The Cyber Tools Engineering team is responsible for the administration of both cloud-based and on-prem security tools and works closely with our Threat Detection Engineering and Cyber Defense Center teams to facilitate the ingestion, normalization, and enrichment of log data critical for threat hunting and detection.
**Major Responsibilities**
+ Operates within and/or manages multiple cyber security tools and platforms; MSFT EDR, GCP, Azure, Splunk.
+ Configures, tunes, and maintains integrations between cyber security tools and our SIEM, ensuring uptime for detection telemetry and alerts.
+ Provides Subject Matter Expertise to deploy, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues with cyber security tools, components, and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
+ Performs routine health checks, maintenance tasks, update, upgrade, and implementing new capabilities.
+ Collaborates with our detection team and stakeholders to understand integration requirements and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
+ Improves efficiency through process improvement and automation.
+ Documents administration and integration processes, workflows, and system architectures for future reference, training, and compliance purposes.
+ Mentors and trains junior staff in toolset usage, configuration, system integration, and program support needs.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors**
+ Experience with SIEMs such as Splunk, Sentinel and Chronicle.Required
+ Experience with SPL, BigQuery, KQL and other query languages used for security event data analytics.Required
+ Experience with APIs, RESTful services, and data interchange formats like JSON and XML.Preferred
+ Strong understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses Preferred
+ Experience in tuning alerts to reduce false positives while increasing detection efficacy. Preferred
+ Experience with Git and version control systems for managing detection content. Preferred
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical customers. Required
+ Demonstrates an empathetic and growth mindset with a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and methodologies. Required
**Education & Experience**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field Preferred
+ 5+ years of experience in a Cyber Security role Required
