Position Description:

 

Purpose

This is a newly created role that will focus on increasing the quality and quantity of organic website traffic via the development and implementation of SEO programmes.  You will report into the Global eCommerce Director and work closely with colleagues across brand and digital marketing as well as technology and sales.  You’ll be an expert in SEO strategy and execution.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategic SEO planning.  Conduct regular SEO audits to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.   Develop and implement comprehensive on and off-page SEO strategies, working with relevant content and technical teams on their implementation. 

Performance tracking and reporting:  Define, monitor, and report on key SEO metrics, including target keywords & rankings, organic traffic, and conversion rates. Develop comprehensive traffic forecasts to support broader eCommerce trading goals. Monitor performance with weekly SEO trading reports to assess their contribution to revenue.

Keyword Research and Content Optimization:  Lead keyword research initiatives to identify high-impact opportunities and trends.  Collaborate with content teams to optimize existing content and create new, high-quality, SEO-friendly content. Monitor competitor SEO activities and implement counter initiatives to defend brand terms and win category terms.

Technical SEO Oversight:  Work closely with web development teams to ensure website architecture, indexing, and technical elements align with SEO best practices.  Troubleshoot and resolve technical SEO issues affecting website performance.

Stay Updated with SEO Trends:  Keep abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to ensure strategies remain competitive on all global search engines, including Google, Navar and Baidu. 

 

Candidate Profile

Competencies & experience required

Functional

7+ years of experience in SEO, with proven track record of driving organic traffic growth for high-traffic websites. Experience managing SEO for multiple websites, preferably within a similar industry. Highly proficient with SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs and Google Search Console). Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and website development practices as they relate to SEO. Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and make informed decisions based on performance metrics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
