Introduction to the job
For our NOW Agile Release Train (ART), we are looking for an experienced senior ServiceNow developer to strengthen the Platform Data Governance DevOps team in this ART. NOW is positioned within IT and more specifically in Core IT Generic & Platform Services. At NOW we improve ASML’s people productivity, through an enterprise wide, one-stop-shop that makes it easy for employees to get fast and high-quality services. We do this with 5 DevOps teams delivering integrated and automated workflows making use of the ServiceNow platform.
The platform Data Governance team is responsible for the overall quality of the CMDB in collaboration with all the teams that register information in the CMDB. This includes identification, analysis and control of data model changes and the orchestration of CI data integrity and relationships. The developer will also help in setting up the life cycle of CMDB classes and CIs within the ServiceNow platform. Ultimately, this role will contribute to the Configuration Management Database maturity process.
Role and responsibilities
A sr. Developer is responsible for turning functional specifications into the best possible technical implementation that is delivering maximum value for our stakeholders. This role is in the heart of a highly empowered team making its own decisions on how to best design, build and deliver new demand. All of this within guardrails set by the organization and architectural guidelines defined by the System and Product Architects. A sr. Developer supports his Product Owner with the definition of crisp User Stories and more, supports the Scrum Master with building a high performing team and supports other team members with their personal development and growth by coaching and challenging them. Bringing the complete team to a higher level in value delivery, delivery predictability and agility is your mission.
Education and experience
As a senior developer with at least 7+ years development experience in ServiceNow you are a master in designing, planning, building, delivering, and administering ServiceNow developments/changes. You advise on the solution direction and create technical solution designs, work with stakeholders and functional consultants to translate business requirements into sustainable ServiceNow developments, improvements and implementations. You perform the development of the more complex technical components and integrations and create reusable components which can be leveraged in future engagements. You act as a mentor, a coach and train junior ServiceNow developers.
A grasp of some skills that fit this position:
5+ years of experience with Configuration Management (CMDB) in ServiceNow in a large IT organization, including defining data management processes and governance around CMDB is required.Thorough understanding and experience with CSDM, the ServiceNow ITAM and ITOM modules.Strong consulting skills and able to identify, define, present and deliver solutions supporting business data need following (data) security and platform standards.Experience in creating, updating and maintaining CMDBs, Asset Management Databases and other asset/configuration management repositories in a complex IT environment.Experience in identifying and tracking CIs, implementing change control and accounting for discovered/manual CIs in a complex IT system.Minimum of 3+year experience with ServiceNow Discovery and a good understanding of plugins, patterns, mid servers, and integrations.Besides the more technical skills and competences, you’re Agile and or SAFe certified. You’re highly motivated and energetic and can pass your enthusiasm towards the teams and others. Your mentoring and coaching skills are strong and you are a great result driven person and communicator. You are outgoing, actively building relationships while building value for your stakeholders. You act like an entrepreneur and take ownership.
