What you'll do:

As a Senior Software Developer your key area of responsibility to drive the development and implement  cutting edge Generative AI systems and solutions that address complex challenges in the telematic industry with a particular focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), into Geotab’s product offerings and enhance operational efficiency. This position is responsible for developing the end-end GenAI project lifecycle including designing, developing and deploying GenAI models tailored to telematic  applications. Key responsibilities  include ensuring scalability and robustness of the GenAI system. The senior developer will engage closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into the telematic platform. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts

How you'll make an impact Develop scalable and efficient Generative AI Applications. Develop LLM-powered solutions using the various techniques that exist to reach product goals. Design the right architecture based on product needs, balancing trade-offs like AI safety and latency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI technologies seamlessly into the platform, ensuring a personalized and impactful learning experience. Engage with the AI communities, contributing to and applying the latest findings and technologies to our AI initiatives. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards. Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices and maintain a high level of code quality within the development team. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members. Maintain comprehensive documentation of development processes. Stay updated with the latest advancements in Generative AI, Machine learning and related fields. Identify and implement improvement to the development process and workflows. Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to enhance the GenAI development pipeline. Take the ownership of key development projects, ensuring that the software aligns with business goals, timeline and expectations. Managing technical risks to deliver expected solutions Remain updated on cutting-edge advancements in areas related to LLMs, Agents, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and Generative AI What you'll bring to the role 5 - 8 years of required previous experience in Software development with a focus on AI/ML Proficiency in Python programming languages Be familiar with GenAI and AI frameworks such as Langchain, Langgraph, Llamaindex, etc. Expertise in designing and developing scalable and efficient Applications. Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs) and various techniques for deployment. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively. Experience working with server side frameworks like FastAPI as well as API development, documentation, and versioning Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience working with GitLab CI for process automation including testing, analyzing, reviewing, building, and deploying code. Experience working with and/or contributing to open source projects Strong communication and collaboration skills Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in generative AI and prompt engineering, incorporating best practices into our development lifecycle. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS) and distributed computing. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
