As a Java and Guidewire developer, you will join a dynamic team tasked with creating, maintaining, and supporting the claims process for Intact employees and customers. Among other responsibilities, the team is responsible for developing integrations between our main claims systems and our artificial intelligence engines, towards which more and more features will be developed in the future.

What you'll do here:
Participate in the maintenance/development/evolution of SOA services within large-scale projects.
Participate in the maintenance/development/evolution of applications with front-end development (Angular Frontend) and back-end development (Java Backend).
Participate in the maintenance/development/evolution of our centralized claims system (Guidewire Claims Center).
Participate in a 100% agile team in the development of major systems using new web and application technologies.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to find technical solutions with other team members, creating prototypes as needed.
Prepare technical documentation to deploy and support the deployed systems.
Develop and perform unit and automated tests to validate the code.
Participate in peer code reviews.
Participate in the implementation of continuous development and integration culture (CI/CD).
Offer advice and support to other team members and knowledge transfer.
Participate in daily scrums, providing estimates and status updates as needed.
What you bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a combination of equivalent training and experience.
8 years of experience in Java application development.
Very good knowledge of SOA and microservices (Java, Springboot, REST).
Good knowledge of Angular (V11+) – Important asset.
Tools: GitHub, Postman, Maven, Jenkins, IntelliJ, JIRA, Confluence, Teams.
Experience with Guidewire ClaimsCenter is an important asset.
Experience with Agile Scrum methodology ("Scaling Agile" is an asset).
Experience in insurance is an asset.
Knowledge of Intact systems is an asset.
Knowledge of Kafka, MongoDB, Openshift technologies is an asset.
Leadership ability within the team and among the department's development community.
Comfortable in a fast-changing context environment (multiple parallel projects).
Analytical and synthesis skills.
Initiative and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work in a team and attention to detail.
Desire to be part of the best development team ever!
Bilinguism required (French and English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
