You Are:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Developer/Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As a seasoned professional with expertise in multiple programming languages and DevOps tools, you will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring junior developers, and guiding the development of high-quality software solutions. Your extensive experience in PostgreSQL, MySQL, PHP, Typescript, Javascript, Docker, and Rancher will enable you to drive innovation and excellence across our technology stack.

 

The opportunity:

·       Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of software developers, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

·       Software Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications using PostgreSQL, MySQL, PHP, Typescript, Javascript, and other relevant technologies.

·       DevOps Expertise: Utilize Docker and Rancher to containerize and orchestrate applications, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability.

·       Mentorship and Coaching: Guide junior developers in their technical growth, providing code reviews, constructive feedback, and knowledge sharing.

·       Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, develop project plans, and drive project execution to successful completion.

·       Quality Assurance: Ensure that software applications meet high standards of quality, security, and reliability through rigorous testing and debugging.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What you need:

·       Education: Not required, but preferred or equivalent experience - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

·       5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Developer with expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, PHP, Typescript, Javascript, Docker, and Rancher.

·       Proven track record of leading development teams and mentoring junior developers.

·       Strong understanding of programming languages and technologies mentioned above.

·       Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Rancher.

·       Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

·       Certifications: None required but desirable (e.g., AWS Certified Developer - Associate).

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Remote

Compensation Range:   $88,000-$132,000

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
