In this role, you will work with a team of dedicated engineers to develop and enhance our next-generation advertising marketplace. Your technical expertise and collaborative approach will help deliver impactful solutions for advertisers and travelers worldwide.
As a global leader in travel industry advertising, Expedia Media Solutions connects advertisers with millions of travelers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and scaling high-performance systems that support Expedia Group’s expanding advertising network. Your focus will be on designing innovative solutions, driving operational excellence, and contributing to the success of a collaborative engineering team.
In this role, you will:
Design and Develop: Create, optimize, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems that support ad delivery across Expedia Group’s ad network
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver solutions that align with business objectives and meet advertiser needs
Connect and Optimize: Develop and enhance integrations with third-party ad networks and platforms with leading third-party platforms to expand the reach and relevance of our advertising network. Measure, develop and enhance optimization algorithms to improve relevance and delivery
Innovate Continuously: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in advertising technology, identifying opportunities to integrate new approaches and improve our platform
Support Team Excellence: Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and advance their careers
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
Technical Expertise: 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on designing and building scalable systems
AdTech Experience: Familiarity with advertising technologies such as real-time bidding, programmatic advertising, and ad exchanges is a nice-to-have
Proficient in Development Tools: Strong knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and development practices, such as APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures
Data-Driven Mindset: Experience working with data-driven systems, including machine learning or analytics-based solutions, is advantageous
Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions
Strong Communication: Ability to effectively convey technical concepts and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
