The Rendering and Generative AI Technologies organization (ReGenT) is chartered with creating the frameworks and developer tooling used to build Amazon Store experiences that millions of shoppers use every day. Our technologies empower thousands of Amazon developers to innovate new experience to shoppers worldwide. We build products that are self-service and abstracts away the complexity of building features by providing store-wide capabilities, feature-orchestration services, web framework with out-of-the-box capabilities, and fully managed auto-scaling hosting platforms.

We are looking for a candidate to drive the technical program strategies of our upcoming innovation to revolutionize the builder experience of developing on Amazon Store. We are leveraging emergent technologies such as Generative AI and language models to increase the efficiency of our tier-1 production services, reduce the manual steps in operations, execute upgrade campaigns across 2,000+ applications, and improve the developer experience of Amazon engineers worldwide.

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to develop features to Amazon’s most used Java development framework. The right candidate will possess a strong Java development background and has experience developing production quality code on a regular cadence. You will develop new features in Java, make regular security and maintenance updates to vulnerabilities in the Java framework, and develop new testing automation to reduce the total cost of maintaining the Java development framework.

In this role, you will lead a team of talented engineers, define the right set of priorities, drive technical direction and architecture of the team, and most importantly, collaborate with fellow senior and principal engineers across the organization to optimize, standardize, and scale our platform for the benefit of Amazon shoppers.

You will drive innovation through emerging technologies using Generative AI and directly impact Amazon engineer's day-to-day development cycle.
