Job Description This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead the design, development, testing and deployment of new features and enhancements for our Casualty Solutions Group products. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers and other engineers to translate business and customer requirements into technical solutions. You need to have a strong technical background but are also interested in taking on more leadership responsibilities in the future, such as people management. Key Responsibilities: Lead development of core features and technical architecture for assigned projects. Guide design decisions and ensure high standards for code quality, performance, and scalability. Own software development life cycle from ideation to deployment. Drive projects from initial design through testing and launch. Mentor and coach junior engineers. Help less experienced team members grow their skills, provide technical guidance, and conduct code reviews to ensure code meets quality standards. Optimize and improve performance, scalability, and security of existing systems. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production code. Collaborate with product managers and UX designers during requirements gathering and scoping phases. Estimate development efforts and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Stay up to date on emerging technologies. Evaluate new tools and techniques to improve team performance. Contribute to hiring and onboarding of new team members. Participate in interviews and help new hires ramp up. Present updates to leadership and stakeholders. Demonstrate progress and gather feedback. Potentially manage a small team of engineers in the future as you take on more leadership responsibilities. Qualifications BS in Computer Science or related field. 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer. A strong interest in keeping up with the latest technological developments. Expert knowledge of object-oriented design principles and patterns. Strong skills in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, XML, JSON, Entity Framework, and Entity Framework Core. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures/Functions and possess an ability to design optimized database schemas that meet application requirements. Strong working knowledge in unit testing, test isolation, mocking, code coverage, and refactoring. Passion for writing clean, optimized, and scalable code. Strong working knowledge in CICD setup including but not limited to Jenkins and Azure Pipelines. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures/Functions and possess an ability to design optimized database schemas that meet application requirements. Knowledge in modern UI technologies - REACT or Angular Strong debugging, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Experience leading and mentoring other engineers. Exposure to AWS Cloud and in maintaining infrastructure hosted on AWS cloud. Experience in designing clean, intuitive, and discoverable REST APIs following best practices. Preferred skills - Experience in testing APIs using tools like JMeter, etc. Exposure to optimizing APIs for performance, scalability and security including caching, pagination, throttling, parallel processing, etc. will be a plus. Experience with security standards like OAuth. The expected base pay for this position ranges from $87,878 - $120,000 annually, and will be based on a number of additional factors including skills, experience, and education.
