About the Team
As a Senior Software Development Engineer on Workday’s Performance and Capacity Tools team, you will help define and deliver the future of our data analytics ecosystem. In this role, you’ll work closely with DevOps engineers, product managers, and other cross-functional partners to create and deploy innovative tools that bring clarity to complex usage patterns. Your work will empower teams across Workday to make informed, data-driven decisions at scale.About the Role
Design & Develop: Architect robust, scalable services and solutions using TypeScript, Kubernetes (EKS), and AWS services.
Lead & Mentor: Provide technical guidance, set best practices, and support the professional growth of junior engineers.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with DevOps, Product, and various engineering teams to align on requirements, roadmaps, and deliverables.
Optimize Delivery: Contribute to and refine CI/CD pipelines to ensure the efficient deployment of new features and services.
Champion Cloud Solutions: Package and publish offerings to the AWS Marketplace, enabling seamless deployment and management for customers.

Basic Qualifications7+ years of professional software engineering experience, focusing on designing, coding, and testing large-scale applications.
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience (EKS, S3, Secrets Manager, IAM, etc.).
3+ years working with Kubernetes, ideally setting up EKS clusters from scratch.
Proficiency in TypeScript and Python, including building REST or RPC microservices.
Strong foundation in React core concepts (components, state management, lifecycle methods, hooks) and familiarity with libraries like React Router, Redux, or Axios.
Hands-on knowledge of Node.js (asynchronous programming, RESTful APIs).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity).
Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, Pulumi, or similar).
Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.
Solid experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs/ODMs.
Understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, input validation) and performance optimization.
Preferred QualificationsExposure to AWS Marketplace packaging and deployment or a strong willingness to learn.
Background in developing customer-facing UIs or configuration portals for cloud-based services.
Proven track record in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with AWS CDK, CDKTF, AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM), or Docker.
Understanding of AWS security best practices (IAM policies, secure networking).
