Job Summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to design, development and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital data platform hosted on AWS. Develop core/common services that are used across many digital applications such as user management, authorization, data entitlement etc.

Extensive knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements and NFRs.Extensive knowledge of software product architecture and design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics by functional volume and load testing to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient. Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.Knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packageConsiderations For Top Candidates:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred7+ years or more of software development experience or 5+ years of experience with a master’s degree in computer science or related field.5+ years of Java 8/11/17 or higher and RESTful API developmentExperience designing well-defined Spring Boot1+ years of Cloud technology experience such as AWSHands on experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman and AssertibleTest Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development.Hands on experience with testing tools such as Selenium and Cucumber and their integration into CI/CD pipelines.Additional Details:
This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL offices with a flexible hybrid work environment.
