As Discord scales rapidly, the Experimentation Platform puts data at the heart of its decision-making and growth by enabling rapid and accurate product experimentation. We develop and operate an end-to-end platform that is leveraged by our Machine Learning, Analytics, Engineering, and Product partners. We are currently taking a fresh look at our Experimentation Platform, including potentially rebuilding parts of the platform from scratch to take it to the next level. What you'll be doing
Design, build, potentially re-build, and support Discord's next generation experimentation platform: Scope of work would include core services, data pipelines, configuration tooling, and UX. Collaborate with external stakeholders and customers throughout the company to ensure experiments are well run, and their results are accurately understood. Understand and influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation needs.You'll Thrive in This Role If...
You have 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or have an educational background in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math, or Statistics. Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms is a huge plus. You have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leaders in product, data science, and engineering. You thrive in ambiguous environments where the best way forward is unclear, and get excited about figuring out solutions to complex problems, and then executing on them. You have experience building and deploying large-scale distributed systems in a cloud computing environment. You are proficient in Python and SQL. Knowledge of Typescript is a plus. Experience with a variety of datastore, e.g. relational, NoSQL, data warehouse solutions.Bonus Points
Experience with cloud-computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform. Experience with modern data processing stacks, e.g. DBT, Dagster, Airflow. Full-stack development or product engineering experience. Deep understanding of statistics, data science, or large scale data processing.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000 to $201,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
