Senior Software Engineer, Tegra Multimedia

We are looking for an outstanding Senior System Software Engineer and technology expert with a deep understanding of Multimedia sub-system and Android Framework components, to join our Tegra Multimedia software team in Pune.

The role requires an excellent track record of Multimedia stack development from the low-level drivers all the way up to application layers, and expert on multimedia (video, audio, imaging) fundamentals and use cases - e.g. Digital Cockpit use cases for Android Automotive, Secured Video Playback (DRM) and HDR video technologies (e.g. Dolby Vison, HDR10+, etc.).

You will be closely working with very experienced team of recognized specialists, in delivering state-of-the-art Multimedia and Audio/Video software for next-gen Tegra SOC for Console and Automotive Products.

What you'll be doing:

Architecture, Design and development of Multimedia System stack for Tegra products on Android and other Operating Systems.

Ensure the stability and robustness of the system software through production and launch. Perform system-level debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization to resolve system software issues.

Implement solutions to complex issues & defects involving interactions between components partitioned across the large software stack.

Optimize and build the system components for a stutter free Video use-cases to efficiently run on NVIDIA TEGRA SOC.

Continuous improvement of quality and performance of the software and raise the bar.

Decide the objective and goals and drive team towards achieving those. Collaborate with multi-functional and diverse teams across globe in resolving sophisticated matters.

What we need to see:

BS/MS in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.

8+ years of experience with Video and Multimedia Systems development.

Excellent C, C++ programming and debugging skills with strong Data Structures and Algorithms know-how.

Solid understanding of computer architecture, operating system, and development on embedded systems.

Experience in writing Multimedia HAL drivers on Android and embedded systems, expertise on video streaming formats (HLS, DASH), Audio/Video compression standards, DRM technologies, and HDR technologies (HDR10, Dolby-Vision, etc).

Expertise with Multimedia frameworks such as Codec-2, Stagefright, GStreamer, OpenMAX - IL, etc.

Must be highly motivated with a positive demeanor! Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

Knowledge of Audio & Video codec compression and HDR display standards and pre/post processing algorithms.

Familiar with functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434).

Familiarity with Cuda programming and shaders on GPU and Exposure to Deep Learning / Machine Learning techniques and application to Multimedia domain.
