What’s the role?  

Design and plan software by applying the principles of engineering to software development. Translate business requirements into digital solutions, including business analysis and application design. Develop future-proof, well-tested and secure applications. Systematically develop processes to provide specific functions. Is aware of the "big picture". Ensure up-to-date knowledge about the latest technologies and trends, bring fresh ideas to the team. May involve coordination on projects. The role requires a university education (master's degree) and 2-3 years of professional experience.  This role covers 4 tiers. This job profile represents tier 2 of 4.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Plan, design, code, test and debug SW features of large   scope and complexity.
Utilizes good judgment in selecting and implementing SW approach.
Receives general guidance on new assignments, but otherwise works independently on a day-to-day level.
May lead the  planning, implementation, and documentation of SW features of moderate scope.

Do you qualify?

3-5 yrs. SW development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or 2-5 yrs. SW development experience with a Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent , or a PhD in Computer Science or equivalent with 1-5 yrs. experience. Must have 1-3 years experience in one of the primary SW development languages we use.(C++, C# or Python). Must have 1-3 years experience developing a windows application for an instrument.

The annual pay range for this position is $115,000 – $144,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions.  ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
