What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Design and develop software tools to improve reliability, latency, availability, and scalability of Walmart e-commerce products. Design and develop brand new end-to-end software application that brings together numerous services and applications that deliver Walmart e-commerce. Build tools or automated processes to prevent re-occurrence of problem to mission critical projects and services of Walmart. Perform root-cause analysis of complex problems involving multiple parties, networks, hardware, and software that relate to scaling and performance. Guide, influence, design and create new architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale enterprise systems. Participate in capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning. Participate in on-call rotation.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience designing frontend architecture for large-scale web applications. Experience implementing web applications using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java or Go. Experience with containerization and container platforms (including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift). Experience with distributed version control Git. Experience with network concepts, protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP), MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $174,518/year to $234,000/year.  Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
