We also work with networking and hardware technologies such as PXE, DHCP, UEFI, and TPM to enable booting and provisioning of servers remotely. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day. **Responsibilities** As a Senior Software Engineer on the Bare-metal Imaging Solution team, you will be responsible for: + Designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-quality distributed systems solutions for the data center automation project + Collaborating with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand the requirements and deliver the best user experience + Troubleshooting and resolving issues and bugs in the data center automation systems and distributed systems. + Mentoring and coaching engineers and sharing best practices + Researching and exploring new technologies and trends that can improve the data center automation project **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, Rust, & GO + OR equivalent experience. + Experience with Azure PaaS solutions such as Azure Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Durable Functions + Experience with networking and passion for working on hardware technologies such as PXE, DHCP, UEFI, and TPM. + Experience with security and reliability engineering, such as encryption, authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, testing, and debugging + Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills + A growth mindset and a willingness to learn new things and take on challenges Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
