Senior Software Engineer

Overview:
Mastercard’s Corporate Solutions team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work with a cross-functional development team to enhance and modernize our Commercial Buyer Services Experience services.
Focused on secure, highly available and innovative solutions, this dynamic team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base.

Role:
•\tCollaborate with engineers to develop and maintain high-volume, high-performance Java applications.
•\tWork with technical leads and product managers to define features and write user stories that align with project requirements.
•\tLead day-to-day system development and maintenance efforts, ensuring alignment with SLAs.
•\tSeek opportunities to enhance standards and streamline processes, improving team efficiency.
•\tActively contribute to agile discussions and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
•\tTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in both the development and production environments.
•\tContribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, deploying, and supporting applications.
•\tApply best practices in software engineering, ensuring clean, efficient, and maintainable code using object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and modern frameworks.
•\tMentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

All About You:
•\tProven full-stack development experience with expertise in back-end development.
•\tProven expertise in Java development using frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
•\tStrong background in RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP-based APIs with Java.
•\tHands-on experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, CSS, HTML, and cross-browser compatibility.
•\tExperience working in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, Cloud Foundry).
•\tFamiliarity with Agile development practices.
•\tExcellent knowledge of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
•\tExperience building global-scale, high-quality solutions.
•\tStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•\tProactive problem-solver with a focus on identifying solutions and driving them to implementation.
•\tBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
