Position: Senior Software Engineer
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Work on medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements. Write and develop code. Deliver highly scalable microservices including requirements, design, code, and documentation. Contribute to early quality activities, including peer reviews of estimates, design, and code. Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches. Work cross-functionally with various teams including product management, QA/QE, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results. Work on assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, direction, and examples. Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information and engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulate an action plan and perform actions as designated in the plan and then interpreting the results to determine further action and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year of experience in software engineering or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
Skills required: Experience building highly scalable and distributed web applications using frameworks including Spring Boot. Experience designing and developing Java based REST web services in both Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices platforms. Experience with NoSQL databases inclduing Cassandra and Azure Cosmos. Experience with big data technologies including Apache Kafka to build event-driven features. Experience with system performance tuning and analysis using JMeter. Experience building continuous code integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Jenkins and Maven. Experience setting up data monitoring, analysis and reporting dashboards using tools including Splunk and Dynatrace. Experience building and deploying dockerized applications and configured Kubernetes for hosting and management. Experience with distributed version control systems including GitHub for managing versioned source code. Experience with unit test tools including JUnit and Mockito. Experience with SonarQube to review code quality. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $117,000/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
