**Media Engineering** is an innovative organization that is focused on providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers around the world, powered by exceptional technology. This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
**Status & Workflow Aggregation (SWAN)**
This team is responsible for the combined status aggregation across the supply chain ecosystem, combining data from the media and metadata processing pipelines. This team is also responsible for QC state tracking and auditing as well as the search platform for the content supply chain.
**Responsibilities**
+ Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software for Disney’s streaming products, which have global scale
+ Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
+ Build quality products
+ Manage AWS infrastructure supporting the DTC supply chain data aggregation systems for Live and VOD
+ Work on improving system scale and throughput for handling high concurrency
+ Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation
+ Provide on-call rotational support as needed
+ Mentor or coach team members best practices, technical concepts and principles of software development
+ Recruit and help hire talented software engineers
**Basic Qualifications**
+ BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field or equivalent practical experience
+ 5+ years of developing software products
+ Experience in programming with Java, Python or any other Object-oriented programming language
+ Experience and proficiency with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure
**Preferred Qualification**
+ Experience with Scala Programming language or experience with functional programming
+ Experience integrating media players into web applications
+ Solid understanding of web accessibility fundamentals
+ Strong knowledge to web standards and new technologies
+ Understanding of async programming models (events, callbacks, promises, async/await) and threading/concurrency
+ Understanding of source control concepts and systems, CI/CD pipelines and exposure to Git
+ Experience with build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins and Docker
+ Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, SQS, etc.)

The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA and in New York City, NY is $142,516 to $191,180 per year; the hiring range for this position in Santa Monica/Burbank/Glendale/L.A., California and in Bristol, Connecticut is $136,038 to $182,490; and the hiring range for this position in San Francisco, California is $148,994 to $199,870 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
