Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer to join the Communications Test Systems (CTS) team. The CTS team is responsible for developing software and hardware solutions to perform functional and diagnostic testing of various communication electronic assemblies (Unit Under Test, or UUT), which are critical for supporting our servicemen and women. This role involves understanding and capturing customer requirements, defining test scenarios, and developing new test applications to validate these requirements, both RF and digital. The goal is to determine if the UUT meets minimal service requirements or needs to be removed from service for repair and restoration.
ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and capture customer requirements for communication equipment testing.Define test scenarios to verify the performance and parametric data of tactical communication equipment.Develop new test applications to validate customer requirements, both RF and digital.Perform analysis of technical OEM documentation, schematics, and UUT behavior to determine test requirements.Design physical interface connections, generating electrical schematics, wire lists, and bills of material.Develop software using object-oriented APIs to apply stimulus to and measure outputs from the UUT.Configure Test System instrumentation and UUT settings, apply input signals, and verify expected outputs.Perform debug and troubleshooting procedures to resolve failure conditions during development and reported by end users.Utilize Life Cycle DevOps and revision control software for all source and document data.Perform software validation and verification testing.Travel and customer interface as required.Work independently or with a group to meet project goals and ensure best practices are used.Essential SkillsProficiency in object-oriented programming languages, specifically C#.7 years of experience in software development with C# or other object-oriented languages.Fluent in Object Oriented Design practices.Experience using communication and bench test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.Basic knowledge of RF systems and measurements.Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.Experience with tactical/airborne radio logistics.Knowledge in RF Measurements.Extensive experience with software development in C#.Understanding of modern software-defined architectures.Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with MATLAB and LabVIEW.Familiarity with tactical or airborne radios.Experience with Raytheon, Harris, Rockwell, Thales radios.Experience in embedded software development with C++ and Embedded C#.Experience in performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions to resolve test failures.Work Environment
This position operates on a 9/80 work schedule. Travel and customer interface may be required. The role involves working in an engineering center of excellence in Orlando, FL, focused on military support and radio test equipment.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $57.00 - $67.00/hr.
