Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a **Senior Software Engineer** to join our team and help us with AI for IT. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond._ _In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively_ _impact_ _our culture every day._ **Responsibilities** + Tech lead development of AI-enabled features and functionalities. + Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of AI solutions. + Investigate security, performance and scale problems and make customer-driven improvements. + Deploy and support our services for partner teams and our customers. + Collaborate with team members as part of an agile team. + Constantly learn and grow as an engineer and as a member of a diverse and inclusive community. + Embody our culture and values **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ yearstechnical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, .net Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience. + 4+ years of a proven track record for building and shipping production software. + Experience with an object-oriented languages like C#/C++/Java; you have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. + Experience with prompt engineering and building AI enabled solutions + Experience in cloud services with Azure technologies such as: Azure, VectorDB/CosmosDB/GraphDB, Service Bus, Service Fabric **Other Requirements** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python + OR equivalent experience + You have a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and concepts + You are a data driven engineer and passionate about quality, performance and scale + A solid collaborator - you can explain your work, you ask great questions, you listen to your peers and your customers, and you like to give and receive feedback. + Understand that it’s not enough to write working code. It must also be well-designed, secure, easy to test, easy to monitor in the cloud, and easy to service. + Be willing to leverage and build on top of the work of others to quickly meet customers’ and engineers’ needs – including adopting standard cloud capabilities and toolsets. + Always eager to learn, always seeking to learn more and to become a better engineer + Demonstrated ability and experience in the entire services development cycle: design, implementation, deployment, and live site support. Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
