Job Summary

The Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for working with a team of software engineers in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and systems. This positions functions as a technical leader for multiple, complex applications and core utilities utilizing demonstrated ability to deliver technical solutions to the problems and challenges inherent in related projects.

Essential Functions

Works with project team of users and analysts to develop technical requests ensuring design will integrate with current systems.
-Develops project technical work plan and enforces adherence.
-Writes and organizes internal documentation for new and existing applications.
-Maintains integrity of applications by routinely running data checks and analyzing errors and imbalances.
-Works to identify causes and prevent further occurrences.
-Works with vendors and application teams, and other Systems Programming staff to develop core infrastructure technologies and frameworks, using best practices, that are highly scalable, stable, and performant.
-Mentors others in Systems Programming in the design, implementation, use, and support of said applications and core utilities both individually and in team-based mechanisms such as code review and team design sessions.


 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Software Engineering requiredMGB can consider and accept experience in lieu of a degreeProfessional experience in software development 5-7 years required


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Python, Ruby, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with different phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with development tools, version control systems, integrated development environments, and software testing frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, diverse, and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, programming languages, and frameworks as required.


 

Additional Job Details (if applicable)

M-F Eastern Business Hours required.

Onsite Flexible Hybrid role requires in office work weekly at Assembly Row and remote work requires Stable, quiet, secure business office.

In Office days in person are TBD, must be flexible to attend at Corporate office. And possible local travel to MGB Local Sites
