We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with C/C++ to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a stone’s throw from seaside Newport, Rhode Island. Responsibilities will include but, are not limited to, SW leadership and customer interfacing, Linux software development in real-time multi-threaded platforms, integrating with custom hardware, and integrating with submarine networks, as well as implementation of control, detection, and tracking algorithms. The ideal candidate enjoys in a multi-disciplinary role and is comfortable adapting to and identifying new technologies as needed.
This position is an Onsite role.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop software for deployed DoD Linux real-time software systems hosted on VPX and server based solutions.Develop software and interface specifications for external recorders, sensors, and communication systems. Implementation expertise on Red Hat or Red Hawk Linux preferred.Collaborate with a cross-functional team testing your contributions and analyzing performanceIntegrate components you develop into a larger system in preparation for real world testing and deployment.Make a difference for our future Navy sailorsWhat you will gainInvolvement in the technical components of solving our customer’s most complex problemsWork with world class researchers and engineers who embrace innovation and challenge the status quoExperience in a highly visible software development team, exposure to the Navy acquisition process, and opportunity to learn new technologies and gain new embedded development experiences.Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer site for meetings or other business-related activities.Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of prior experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.Active/current US Government DoD Secret clearanceExperience developing software in and for a Red Hat Linux environment.Qualifications We Prefer
Proficiency using C/C++Familiarity with Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, or Coverity.Proficiency in MATLAB and/or optimizing algorithms in C/C++Experience with hard-real-time processing optimizationAdvanced degree or additional experience will be compensated appropriatelyWhat We Offer

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
