Senior Software Engineer/Developer
Job Description:

Position Description:

Builds and improves software and web applications using Java, J2EE,Spring MVC, and Spring Core. Develops User Interaction screens using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Creates reusable templates using Angular directives and NPM manager tools like Node JS. develops single page applications using VueTests and maintains application features using test automation frameworks and tools — Junit, Mockito, Selenium and Cypress. Develops and designs software products to improve the quality, security, and stability of customer experiences. Supports and integrates RESTful services using web service tools — as JSON and XML. Creates and enhances Application Programming Interface (API) design components, includes versions, isolation, and micro-services, by leveraging modeling languages such as Swagger. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building and testing web applications using Angular, Vue, Node, and Java.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, building and testing web applications using Angular, Vue, Node, and Java.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) collaborating on a cross- functional team to modernize legacy financial mainframe platforms using Java, REST, GraphQL, Python and Spring Boot; developing Microservices and Serverless technologies for trade processing, resulting in improvements in system performance and trade processing times; and designing and implementing responsive front-end applications to enhance user experience using Node.js, React, Angular, Vue JS, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript. DE designing and executing the Automation Test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Junit; automating different Unit test cases using Jasmine and Karma testing frameworks; and building and maintaining End to End testing with Cypress. DE performing Cross-Team Collaboration and DevOps Integration to implement CI/CD pipelines; maintaining DevOps processes and tooling (Jenkins CI pipelines, UDeploy, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Bitbucket, Github, Bamboo, and Gitlab); building automated testing suites, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; and testing and enabling the team adoption of testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies using  Cypress, Selenium, Bamboo, Mabl, and XRay. DE integrating payment gateways and third-party APIs to ensure seamless transaction processing and expand the platform's feature set; building applications using secure coding standards and methodologies (implementing OAuth2- based authentication); coordinating microservices architecture implementation by establishing standardized API documentation and communication protocols; and architecting a scalable microservices ecosystem using Spring Cloud using Datadog, Splunk, and Jira.
