Senior Software Engineer/Developer
Job Description:

Position Description:

Designs and implements web applications using Web User Interface (UI) front-end frameworks and web technologies/components -- HTML/CSS, Javascript, Typescript, and Angular. Develops front-end software solutions using Low Code platforms -- OutSystems, MS Power Apps, and Mendix. Crafts and develops enterprise digital applications with MVC design patterns, micro front-end strategies, and open micro-service architectures using Java, Python, and NodeJS. Builds and maintains test automation components using version control management systems such as Git. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building software solutions in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) building software solutions in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing Java RESTful services and middle-tier, multi-threaded applications within a financial services environment according to Agile methodologies, using Java, Spring, or Hibernate frameworks; performing application build, deployment, and support using CI tools -- Jenkins or Maven; performing configuration management using Git or Stash; and performing Test Driven Development (TDD), using Unit/JUnit testing techniques or SONAR.DE designing and implementing software solutions within a financial services environment, using User Interface (UI) development tech stack -- Angular, HTML, TypeScript, JavaScript, or CSS; and implementing State Management patterns and frameworks using NgRx or RxJS.DE writing clean, testable, readable, and maintainable code; deploying e-mail applications to AWS; scheduling ETL Batch processes on a daily or weekly basis and transferring data between databases; and hosting and running web application servers tools using Tomcat or WebSphere.DE supporting the full Web application development lifecycle -- analysis, design, development, test, and deployment -- using Source Control version (Git or Stash) and build tools (Maven or Jenkins) according to Agile methodologies.
